Home to enigmatic wonders and dreamlike marvels, Bolivia remains a country entrenched in surreal beauty. Spectacular nature reserves adorn Bolivia's lower lying jungle regions, and stars illuminate the night skies on the high altitude Altiplano. Bolivia is also host to the world's highest capita, La Paz, the largest salt flats on earth, the mining town of Potosi, and an expanse of beautiful rainforest. From fishing for piranhas to enjoying lively and obscure Altiplano festivals, Bolivia is extraordinary.

La Paz

- La Paz, the highest capital city in the world, appears something like a moon crater. The city is 4km above sea level and is situated on a canyon floor which shows only a hint of vegetation. Fortunately, the life and color of La Paz is found in its people and culture. La Paz is considered to be the synthesis of Bolivia because it contains in one way or another all the various climates and an enormous variety of natural attractions, such as high snowy mountains, the Andean landscape, desert-like grounds and sub-tropical areas. In La Paz the modern ways of the western world collide and coexist with the old cultures and customs of the Aymara and the Quechua.

Lake Titicaca

- The sacred and mystic Lake of the Inca is the highest navigable lake in the world. This magical lake harbors in its breast the archaeological complex of one of the oldest civilizations on the continent. Lake Titicaca is located in the Department of La Paz, three hours by car from the capital city. It has an average height of 3,810 meters above sea level. A portion of the lake belongs to Bolivia and the other to Peru. The islands, which are splattered with archaeological remains, provide tangible proof of the domain that Aymara civilizations have had over this area. Navigating through the sacred lake is a unique experience. With impressively blue beauty, Titicaca has a great significance for the men of the highland who consider it the cradle of the Andean civilization.
Salar de Uyuni

- Towards the Southwest of Bolivia lays the largest salt desert in the world, the Salar de Uyuni (Uyuni Salt Lake), with a total area of 10,582 Km2, at a height of 3,653 meters above sea level. The Salar de Uyuni is in fact the brightest spot visible from space. The largest white desert in the world seems to expand until it blends with the sky. It holds in its territory natural wonders such as the fascinating colored lagoons, exotic rocky formations, diversity of animals strolling in their own intact natural environment, volcanic craters and fumaroles that emit spouts of gas and superheated steam reaching up to 100 meters in height.
