Cartagena - Colombia

Cartagena de Indias, otherwise known as ‘The Heroic City’ was founded in 1533 by Spanish commander Pedro de Heredia. Its impressive colonial walled city and fortress have been declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO and the town has some stunning architecture. Cartagena is also Colombia’s premier destination for conventions and trade shows. Cartagena has a warm, tropical climate with an average annual temperature of approximately 28 ° C. Its waters are always warm, making it ideal for water sports any time of the year.

Cartagena has a rainy season and a dry season. The rainy season occurs between May and December, and the dry season between January and April.

Most flights from overseas connect from El Dorado International Airport in Bogota to Rafael Nunez Airport in Cartagena. Some cities with international flights are: Miami (Avianca), Madrid, and all Central American countries with connections in Panama City (Copa Airlines).
